about the artist

"My body of work includes several styles and subjects.  There are objective and non-objective works, in color and in grayscale, in paint and in charcoal.  Color, texture, and implied motion are favorite obsessions (even in my photography).

Much of my work is untitled, because when something is labeled, the possible range of varying perceptions is narrowed.  Leaving a work untitled allows the viewer to take a more active role in re-inventing and re-interpreting the work.

We are told often enough what we should think.  That may often be a good thing; but art is one area in which we can be allowed free thought, without restriction or restraint."
